She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from the University of South Florida.

Dr. Brussee became interested in women's health on a quest to heal her body from a chronically painful diagnosis and pelvic/core issues she experienced during her pregnancies and deliveries. She has completed extensive post-doctoral specialized training specifically in women's health and pelvic floor/core rehabilitation, and is internationally certified as a Women's Holistic Hormonal Health Practitioner and Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist. She has also completed advanced manual therapy/bodywork studies with emphasis on soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, and gyno-visceral manipulation. Dr. Brussee is the only pelvic health therapist in North Carolina who is a Certified Mercier Therapist and a Certified Mercier Fertility Specialist. She is also one of the few pelvic health therapists in the United States who is trained in Rehabilitative Ultrasound Imaging, an advanced technology that takes much of the guesswork out of deciphering causes of core and pelvic floor dysfunction, and therefore speeds up the recovery process. Utilizing her expertise in both women's physical rehabilitation and hormonal health, Dr. Alyssa Brussee is able to address complex hormonal and structural issues comprehensively. Dr. Brussee enjoys working with women of all ages who want to get to the root cause(s) of the unwanted symptoms they are experiencing related to core, bladder, bowel, sexual, and reproductive health, but especially enjoys working with women during the pre-conception, pregnancy, birth preparation, and postpartum recovery periods. She is passionate about educating her clients to become experts of their own bodies so that they are able to take an active role in their health and wellness through every season of life in a sustainable way. Dr. Brussee loves working in women's health because she firmly believes that women who feel healthy from the inside-out are better equipped to thrive in motherhood, their marriages, relationships, jobs, and hobbies- thereby transforming entire family units and communities.

Dr. Brussee lives in Hendersonville, NC with her husband, children, and German Shepherd, Gunner. She enjoys spending her free time outdoors mountain biking, trail running, and working at her family's farm. She loves any activity that involves meeting new people and spending quality time with family and friends. When not outdoors or with others, Dr. Brussee can probably be found researching, writing, curled up with a good book, playing the violin, or belting out to Fleetwood Mac.

Emma Mang is a North Carolina native who earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Liberty University, and also has an Associate's degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant from Greenville Technical College. She holds certifications as a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, Certified Birth Doula, and Breastfeeding Peer Counselor.

Before transitioning her career into the "birth world" she worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant in an outpatient physical therapy clinic where she developed a strong interest in women's health through working alongside a pelvic floor therapist. When she became pregnant with her daughter, she fell in love with all things related to pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. Since that time, she earned her doula, childbirth education, and breastfeeding certifications to be able to offer her clients comprehensive guidance as they navigate each stage of motherhood. She provides full-spectrum support and education throughout pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the postpartum period. Her passion is to help women truly understand their bodies, the changes that take place prenatally and postnatally, and to have an empowered, confident birth and entrance into parenthood. She enjoys teaching people how to mitigate common issues during pregnancy and postpartum, and to help them determine if further care is needed by their physician or another women's health specialist. She also loves facilitating opportunities for new moms to develop a strong sense of community as they begin their motherhood journey, and hosts a weekly new mom support group.

Emma lives in Hendersonville, NC with her husband, daughter, and son. Their favorite family activity is walking and hiking in the beautiful mountains of WNC. Michelle McGuire
INHC
Hormonal Health Coach

Michelle_Headshot.jpg

Michelle McGuire is a Minnesota native who earned her certification as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach with a special focus in women's hormonal health from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

Michelle discovered the field of women’s hormonal health through her own personal struggles with painful and symptomatic menstrual cycles and other health issues linked to imbalanced hormones. She is passionate about giving women the power and knowledge to change their own menstrual cycles, fertility, and overall physical and mental health. Michelle is well-versed in the female endocrine system and metabolism, and her coaching addresses diet, lifestyle, exercise, sleep, and stress through a hormonal lens. Unlike other coaches, Michelle is aware that one size does not fit all when it comes to women’s health. Many popular diet, exercise, and lifestyle recommendations on the market are not created with women's hormones in mind, often rendering them ineffective or even detrimental to health. Using a hormonal approach to health, Michelle has helped many women lessen or eliminate their period pain & premenstrual syndrome symptoms, clear hormonal acne, lose weight, and learn how to eat in a way that supports long-term health. She has successfully assisted many women to carefully transition off of birth control and discover medication-free methods of maintaining hormonal balance. She is energized by helping her clients learn how hormones affect all aspects of health, and how much influence they have to alter their hormones naturally.

Michelle lives in Hendersonville, NC with her husband and their daughter, Rosie. She is an Enneagram Type 2, loves a cup of tea and a good book, and frequent movie nights. She attends church in Hendersonville and co-leads a local connect group. She loves to exercise, nerd out about the menstrual cycle, and can probably be found cooking up new recipes in the kitchen on a weekly basis.

Hannah Farman grew up in Hendersonville, NC and earned her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montreat College. She also has a second Master's degree in Cross-Cultural Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from UNC Wilmington.

Hannah always knew she wanted to work in a helping profession and pursued a career in mental health because she recognized the positive influence that healing one's mind can have on their entire life. She has diverse professional experience working with women who have anxiety and/or depression, and helps them find mental freedom through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) methods. She is also passionate about helping women navigate major life transitions such as getting married, entering motherhood, changing careers, moving, or processing the ending of a relationship. In addition to treatment for anxiety, depression, and life transitions, Hannah offers the unique specialization of career counseling. She loves helping others find true fulfillment in their vocations, as she has found that many mental health and relationship challenges often stem from an unhealthy work life. Hannah is dedicated to life-long learning and is passionate about providing her clients with the most comprehensive and evidence-based mental health care possible. Whether experiencing a season of general increased stress or navigating a long-standing mental health issue, Hannah strives to provide each of her clients with effective skills, strategies, and resources to overcome mental health obstacles so that they can live full lives.

Hannah lives in WNC with her husband and daughter. During her spare time she enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and bingeing true crime shows. Hannah loves spending quality time with her loved ones and can frequently be found leading family dance parties.
