Lamaze Childbirth & Perinatal Education
Childbirth is a life-changing physical and emotional endurance event that no one should be expected to complete without training. While much of labor and delivery are beyond our control, we can prepare well to increase the likelihood of having a healthy, safe, and satisfying birth experience. Our childbirth and perinatal education classes are fun and interactive sessions that help equip parents for the miracle of childbirth with unbiased, evidence-based information that covers the progression of labor, pain management options, positioning and pushing strategies, indications for medical interventions, and newborn care. Our instructor, Emma Mang, holds the only accredited childbirth educator certification (Lamaze), which utilizes the most current evidence available in childbirth research.

Childbirth Education Class
This class is designed to empower parents to feel confident and prepared for childbirth and the early postpartum days, equipping them with the most important need-to-know information surrounding birth. In this 3-hour class you will learn about the signs of labor, when to go to the hospital/birth center, comfort and relaxation techniques to manage pain, positions to encourage progress in labor, common medical interventions and possible indications for them, ways your partner can support you physically and emotionally, and much more! Whether this is your first pregnancy or your fourth, we are confident there is something you will learn from this class series to aid in achieving a safe, healthy, and satisfying birth.
Prenatal Education Class
Come learn about the various changes that will occur during pregnancy, common complaints during this time period, and evidence-based information on the importance of (safe) exercise for both mom and baby. This is a 1.5 hour long class taught in an interactive group setting.
Postpartum Education Class Series
This class is a two-part series. Part One is best to take anytime after 27 weeks of pregnancy.
*This class series does not replace the 1:1 individualized care with a women's health therapist that we highly recommend for all women, but serves to give helpful general information to start your postpartum journey.
Part One: You will learn about what to expect in the postpartum period in regard to pain, bleeding, activity modification, and proper nutrition to encourage healing. We will also discuss ways to prepare yourself for your new baby including ideas for postpartum supplies to have on hand, easy freezer meal ideas to prepare beforehand, and gentle evidence-based exercises/stretches that can be performed just days after giving birth.
Part Two: Congratulations on your new bundle of joy! Regardless if this is your first baby or sixth, you could benefit from this class. You can attend Part Two of this class as soon as you are cleared to do so by your OB/GYN, usually sometime between 3-8 weeks postpartum depending on your personal needs and healing.
